Apana Logistics, originally established in 1992 and renamed in 2007 before converting to a public company in 2024, is an integrated container-logistics provider headquartered in Kolkata that has developed from basic container handling and trucking into a multi-service operator supporting container freight stations (CFS), inland container depots (ICD) and ports across several Indian states. Its core business is end-to-end movement and yard management of shipping containers, delivered through four service lines: container handling at CFS/ICD/ports using reach stackers and cranes; pan-India road transportation of 20-foot and 40-foot containers between factories, ports, CFS and ICDs; cargo handling at third-party warehouses (loading, unloading, stuffing, de-stuffing, stacking and segregation); and repair, operation and maintenance of truck-trailers, including management of some third-party assets. The company’s expertise lies in coordinating first-mile and last-mile container moves and terminal yard operations, supported by an owned fleet of truck-trailers, reach stackers and cranes that can be supplemented with third-party equipment as needed. Its principal customers are leading CFS, ICD and port operators, with long-standing relationships including two of its top five clients for over a decade. Apana’s operational approach emphasizes cost- and time-effective, asset-backed execution and equipment upkeep, positioning it to help terminal and depot operators address congestion, turnaround-time and reliability challenges in the container supply chain.
